Indian Senior football team coach Stephen Constantine expressed his views on India U17’s performance in the FIFA U17 World Cup.
Going through his words it was clear that he was quite unhappy, and criticized the Young Colts after their frantic efforts in the tournament leading to 3 losses in 3 games. The U17 World Cup was quite successful in India on the basis of attendance but on the Indian football team’s part it was lukewarm.
Here is what he said:
There was a lot of hype on the team, but they didn’t win any games in the World Cup. I never saw why we were making such a big deal out of the u-17 team. They didn’t qualify. They hosted it. Too much was made of it. They even played in the I-League and came last.
