Chennaiyin FC have managed to retain the Indian core from last season. Their goalkeeper Vishal Kaith has improved through the seasons in ISL. Though Jerry was not able to perform well in the first half of the season, he improved his performances when Owen Coyle was appointed.

They have a versatile player in the form of Edwin Sydney Vanspaul who can play as both a right back and as a defensive midfielder. They have extended the services of Anirudh Thapa who proves to be lethal for their opposition. Thapa will be looking forward to continue his good form from his previous seasens. Having Dhanpal Ganesh and Germanpreet provides Csaba the flexibility to adapt to their oppositions.

Chhangte can provide assists and score goals. Chennaiyin have one of the strongest Indian core this season.

Chennaiyin have extended the services of two Brazilians – Rafael Crivellaro and Eli Sabia. The former proved his caliber last season when he scored goals and also provided assists. Eli Sabia is known for his tackles and aerial clearances. One of their new foreign acquisition Enes Sipovic is almost two metres tall. He can clear aerial balls with his height. The duo of Sabia and Sipovic can be successful if they can communicate well with each other and also with Vishal Kaith.

Chennaiyin have acquired the services of Memo Moura, who is a good replacement for Masih Saighani. He knows well about ISL as he has the most appearances for Jamshedpur FC. Chennaiyin FC have signed Fatkhullo Fatkhulloev who will be the first Tajikistan player to play in ISL. He is the most capped player for Tajikistan.

They have signed Esmael Goncalves also known as Isma as their striker for the upcoming season. Their another striker is Jakub Silvestr . Both these strikers may not be as impressive as Adam Le Fondre or Igor Angulo but no one expected Valskis to win the golden boot award last season. They will be looking forward to find their goal scoring boots.

Chennaiyin have found Reagan Singh to don the position of right back. But they don’t have a good experienced replacement for Chhangte. Most of their foreigners are from different nations which is different from those like FC Goa who have most of their foreigners as Spanish.

If Chennaiyin FC can gel as a team they can be successful in the upcoming season.
