FC Goa all set to face Al Wahda in the second group stage game of AFC Champions League

FC Goa are all set to face Al Wahda in their second group stage game in Groupe E of AFC Champions League. The Gaurs are pumped up after playing a draw against Al Rayyan last game in Goa.

The club from Goa played their debut game in AFC Champions League earlier this week and managed a point against a tough Qatari club. The fans are hoping for some better performance against Al Wahda on Saturday.

Abu Dhabi’s Al Wahda will be a tough opponents for the Gaurs in the second game of AFC Champions League campaign. The UAE Pro League club can cause trouble to FC Goa defense with their pacy wingers.

While, FC Goa showed good grit and determination last game in their defense against Al Rayyan. Juan Ferrando’s side will be hoping to frustrate Al Wahda the same way they did against the Qatari club.

Former Ajax manager Henk Ten Cate will be happy to have their skipper Ismael Matar back in the eleven. The star player made a brilliant cameo in the second-half against Persepolis last game. While, Tim Matavz will lead the attack alongside Khalil Al Hammadi.

FC Goa became the first Indian club to clinch a point in AFC Champions League group stage game earlier this week. Juan Ferrando’s side might try to break the barrier and hope for a win against Al Wahda, who are coming in to this game from defeat.

There are no injury concerns for the Goan side and might field Ivan Gonzalez and James Donachie at the back as defenders. While, Edu Bedia to play deep in the midfield area alongside Glan Martins. Romeo Fernandes might also grab a chance in this fixture.

Tim did assist a goal for his side in the AFC Champions League qualification game. The striker also has nine goals and two assists to his name in the UAE Gulf League. He’ll be expected to pair up with Khalil up front, who got good pace to work with.

Ivan Gonzalez and James Donachie will have to be excellent and on their toes on Saturday to keep this striker calm. While, Ismail Matar will also be a trouble for Goan defense.

Jorge Ortiz

Jorge Ortiz will be the target men for the Goan club against Al Wahda. While, Ishan Pandita will also start along the Spanish forward up front. The Spanish striker is known for his pace and control on the wings and will be vital at counters.

Juan Ferrando will be expecting Oritz to step up and create more attacking chances in the final third for Ishan inside the box. The player has scored six goals in the recently concluded Hero Indian Super League for FC Goa.

Brandon Fernandes needs to operate well on the left flank with Oritz to create more chances. Brandon has the capability the thread beautiful balls in to the box. Romario will also be crucial on right flank, who had a shot on target last game against Al Rayyan.
