Mumbai City FC host the mighty in form Highlander in their reverse fixture. Mumbai are a bit off form, drawing two of their last three games, and scoring just twice in that period. This is obviously unusual for a team who have scored a lot of goals under Lobera. NEUFC on the other hand, are having good come back under their new coach, Khalid Jamil. They have defeated ATK Mohun Bagan and Jamshedpur on their way to GMC Bambolim. They look to continue with the same form against the Islanders.

LINEUP and PREVIEW

MUMBAI CITY FC

The league leaders, Mumbai City FC have played one of the most exciting football in Hero ISL this season. They have good squad depth, which allows coach Sergio Lobera to have multiple options. Even after so many options to choose from, Amrinder has kept his place between the posts. Along with him, the back-four have somehow been retained as first choice, with Hernan and Fall covering the center half. While, Mandar or Vignesh starting on the right back and Amey on the left back. Jahouh and Borges have made an excellent partnership in the most important part of the field. Attacking midfielder, Hugo Boumous has started regularly. Cy Goodard and Raynier have swapped positions on the right wing, with Bipin keeping his place for most of the season on the left flank. Similarly, Le Fondre and Ogbeche have started out as strikers on different occasions, as both possess powerful threat to the opposition.

NEUFC

The Highlander have changed manager mid season, with Khalid Jamil taking the new position as head coach. His last two games have been successful, providing defeats to both three times ISL champions, ATK Mohun Bagan and Jamshedpur FC. He has had an impressive start and will surely look to cause problems for Sergio Lobera. He has managed just two games and have retained almost 9-10 players each game. So as of now, not much can be said surely about his team selection. But Subhasish looks comfortable in the goal. While, Fox and Mashoor have started both games under him, Nim and Asutosh have started each. So, it’s highly uncertain for that position. So goes with the case of striker, with Sylla and new signing Deshorn each starting one game. The midfield trio of Gallego, Camara and Apuia have been the heart of the Highlander. Machado looks to start on the left wing, so does Suhair on the right.

PLAYER BATTLE

Fall vs Deshron and Sylla

Fall have been scoring and defending goals this season for Mumbai City FC. Sylla and the new signing for Bengaluru FC, Deshorn look to provide the goals for the Highlander, in long term absence of Appiah. Height and experience have been an advantage for Mourtada Fall but neither Sylla nor Deshorn look to stop with their recent performances.

Boumous vs Machado

While Hugo have provided six assists and scored once for the Islanders, Highlander’s Machado have scored on four occasions. Both have influenced their own teams almost equally. It will be a fierce battle in the final third, by these two players.

Jahouh vs Camara

Both, Jahouh and Camara have a work rate like machines in the middle of the field. Even though they don’t impact the game with goals and assists, but by putting important tackles, interceptions, and clearances. They both are an important asset to their coaches.
