The I-League Qualifiers are all set to kick off on October 4 in Bengaluru. A total of 10 teams will face each other to book their place in I league. The State Associations nominated 29 teams, off which the AIFF selected the final 10 teams to be a part of the Qualifiers.

Rajasthan United FC, who were nominated alongside Zinc Football from Rajasthan have made the final list having fulfilled all the club licensing requirements.

RUFC, who played as JECRC FC last year, won the Rajasthan League, but could not fulfil some of AIFF’s requirements to make the final cut. But now, having rebranded as Rajasthan United, not only did they continue to showcase exceptional football throughout the R-League, but have also managed to fulfil all the requirements.

As many as seven teams will be making their debut in the I-league qualifiers this time around. The tournament is set to take place in the round robin format, with the clubs divided into two groups. All the teams in the group will play each other once and the top two teams from each group will proceed to the next round.

The final four teams will play each other once and the final standings will determine the eventual winner and will get promoted to I-League 2021-22. A total of 26 matches are set to be played from October 4 to October 23, 2021.

Rajasthan United FC have been drawn into Group A, alongside Hyderya Sports Kashmir FC, Ryntih SC, Madan Maharaj FC and FC Bengaluru United.

Kamal Singh Saroha, one of the club’s owners, had this to say about his club’s participation in the upcoming I-League qualifiers, “The team is very happy to have been selected for the I-league Qualifiers. This was one of our first goals along with setting up a residential academy. Both of which we managed to fulfil. We wish to take Rajasthan football to greater heights and make Rajasthan an important part of the Indian football map.”

Rajasthan United FC make their debut on October 4 playing Ryntih SC in the Bangalore Football Stadium at 3.45PM IST.
