RoundGlass Punjab FC completes the signing of much anticipated midfielder from last season’s I-League. Last season’s leading assist maker Joseba Beitia will play for the Roundglass Punjab FC this season. The 30-year-old central midfielder caught everyone’s attention last term in I-League with his flair on the ball. The club also announced other three new signings on the deadline day.
The Spaniard had huge speculations that he would follow his former boss Kibu Vicuna to Kerala Blasters. But, Punjab FC have now confirmed that, he will play in the I-League for one more season with the club from Punjab. The Spanish midfielder had a season to remember last term with Mohun Bagan. He had a good link-up play with Baba Diawara in the final third.
Former Real Sociedad academy product contributed nine assists and also found the net thrice for Mohun Bagan. He was also the fan favourite for the Mariners last season. He can bring a lot to the side and Curtis Fleming would be glad to have his services for the new season.
Former Mohun Bagan and Odisha FC defensive midfielder Bikramjit Singh will feature for the Roundglass Punjab FC in 2020-21 edition of I-league. The 28-year-old midfielder will be happy to represent his home club this season. Bikramjit is known for his tackles and crucial interceptions in the middle of the park.
The defensive midfielder was a keen figure for Chennaiyin FC’s title winning season back in 2017-18 season. The midfielder has also experience in playing AFC competitions as well. Bikramjit has two goals in three appearances in the AFC Cup competition. He can connect well in the middle alongside Sanju Pradhan at Punjab FC.
Former Jamshedpur FC and NorthEast United forward Sumeet Passi has been roped in by RoundGlass Punjab FC on a free transfer. The 26-year-old centre-forward joins the I-League club on free transfer after being released by his former club Jamshedpur FC. Passi has been one of the regulars at the National side during Stephan Constantine’s era.
Passi has three goals for his country in eight outings. While, the lad from Chandigarh has made 33 appearances overall in the Indian Super League in which, Passi has three goals and three assists to his name. He will be returning to I-League after four years. The last club he played for in the I-League is DSK Shivajians.
RoundGlass Punjab FC have roped in-form Bhutanese winger Chencho Gyeltshen. The ‘Bhutanese Ronaldo’ will be plying his trade in India this season. The 24-year-old winger last played for his hometown club Paro FC in Bhutan. He also played against his former side Bengaluru FC in AFC Cup qualifier back in February this year.
The game ended in favor of Bengaluru FC with scoreline 9-1. While, Chencho scored the only goal for Paro FC. He contributed three goals and one assist in his four AFC Cup qualifier games recently for the Bhutanese club. Chencho has vast experience playing in different parts of Asia including Bangladesh, India, and Thailand.
